Tricky Jacks Magic
Three jacks are placed face down randomly into a deck of cards, but are all seen to reappear at the top of the deck!
Remove the four jacks from the pack and lay them face down in a pile.
Take any three additional cards (the dummy cards) from the deck and place them face down on top of the jacks.
Note: Don’t at any point worry about the numbers or suits of the dummy cards.
Pick these seven cards up, turn them face up, and fan them out in your hand so that only the jacks can be seen. The dummy cards should be hidden behind the rear jack.
Place the main deck face down in front of you.
The story begins ...
There were once four robbers (show the jacks making sure the dummy cards are still not visible) who decide to rob a bank (point to the deck). They enter via the roof. (square the fan of jacks and dummy cards up and place them face down on the main deck)
The story continues... one robber goes to the first floor. (take the top card - our first dummy card) and insert it, being careful not to show the face, near the bottom of the deck.
The next robber goes to the middle floor (take the next dummy card ant insert it in the middle of the deck)
The third robber goes down one floor (take our last dummy card and insert it near the top of the deck)
And the forth robber stays on top as a lookout. (pick up the top card, show the jack and place it back face down on the pack)
The story continues ... the lookout sees the police coming and shouts loud to his fellow criminals to quickly get back to the roof. They run as fast as they can and....
NOW TURN OVER the top four cards one at a time ... 1 ,2 ,3, 4 ... the robbers have all returned back to the roof.
Don’t forget to show that rest of the pack afterwards to prove there are only four jacks
