Take a piece of paper and lay it flat, longways, in front of you. Note ... once you have mastered the following process, you may use a whole newspaper for great effects!
Make a small fold in the paper by folding the nearest edge away from you. Repeat this fold a few times, always in the same direction as shown.
Make sure you fold the paper tightly and crease the edges well.
Still working in the same direction; loosely roll the remaining paper into a tube. The folded area will remain inside the tube.
Take a pair of scissors and make two cuts into the tube where indicated below. Do not cut all the way through the tube and do not cut through the folded area.
Bend the two end tubes downwards to form the feet of the ladder with the folded area lying along the bottom of the middle tube.
Now cut along the top of the middle tube to reveal the folded area inside.
Now pull the folded area upwards and watch the paper ladder grow!
