Tricky Cups Magic
In this trick you complete a process of turning tumblers upside down and the right way up but always finishing with all 3 facing the right way up. However, whenever a friend tries to repeat your moves ... the tumblers always finish upside down!
Take 3 tumblers or glasses without handles.
Place them in a line in front of you; the first face down, the second face up and the third face down.
Note: In your head number the tumblers from 1 to 3 left to right.
Now follow these three moves...
STEP ONE – turn over tumblers 1 and 2
(Now tumbler one is face up and tumbler to is face down)
STEP TWO – turn over tumblers 1 and 3
STEP THREE – turn over tumblers 1 and 2 again.
All three tumblers should now be face up.
NOW: simply turn over the middle (number 2) tumbler so that it is face down and ask a friend to repeat the moves ...
turn 1 and 2, then 1 and 3, then 1 and 2. He will finish with all 3 tumblers face down !!
You may repeat the trick yourself now, by simply turning the middle tumbler face up.
The cups will now be back in the original set position and the moves will lead to them all finishing face up.
