Tricky Count Magic
This is a self working trick where a friend may pick a magic number which relates to a single card. This card is eventually revealed and you need never touch the cards yourself.
Take a pack of cards and give them a good shuffle.
Pick a magic number between 1 and 10
Deal the cards face down (in a pile) one at a time (counting out loud) until you reach your magic number
Take this small pile of cards and place them to one side.
In a moment I’m going to ask you to deal 16 cards from the remaining deck. As before, count out loud as you deal them face down (in a pile) from 1 to 16, BUT REMEMBER when you say your magic number to look at and memorize the card you are putting down. Don’t forget to deal all 16 cards though.
Ok - Deal 16 cards and note the card as you say your magic number.
Keep thinking of that card.
Place the 16 cards back on top of the deck you are holding and now take the cards you placed to the side earlier and place them on top as well.
Now spell the phrase TRICKS AND RIDDLES out loud. Every time you say a letter, place a card from the top of the deck face down in front of you.

Turn over the next card. . . . . And there it is your chosen magic card.
Note: If you would like to change the ‘tricks and riddles’ phrase to one of your own such as your name, simply count the number of letters in your new chosen phrase (which must be at least 10 letters long) and replace that number with the number 16 used in this example.
